Performed SD, DD and CD phase estimate for a $4M / 75,000 SF renovation of an elementary school. Work included MEP estimates and 14 design alternates. The renovation included fully air conditioning the school, upgrading technology, new ceilings and lighting, improving classrooms, upgrading restrooms, improving security, repairing plumbing and electrical services, and improvements to meet requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Additional goals for the renovation included creating a safe bus loading and unloading area, creating a secure entry for the building, relieving traffic congestion on the site at arrival and dismissal times and making the building more energy efficient. The project is pursuing LEED certification.
